I finished playing Breath of the Wild [Spoilers!]

Image
After approximately 8 months and 400 hours of gameplay, I finally finished Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild . (Note: This blog post contains affiliate links) Now, I've  mentioned before that BotW was the first Legend of Zelda game that I've ever played at length, and with that, it was the first of the franchise that I've finished. When I started playing the game, I didn't think I'd finish it. I felt that the tasks were too big and that there were too much to do, and I didn't have the skills to defeat Ganon. Plus I'm used to a very linear JRPG style of game where you can't progress until you finish a certain part, and I disliked LoZ's battle system. But I just kept playing, though. There were days when I'd log in and just roam around Hyrule. I put off fighting the Divine Beasts because I thought I couldn't. Then there were days when I think, "Ok, let's fight (insert enemy name here)." Which was how I managed to get through th...

Legend of Zelda live action movie announced!

Image
On November 8, 2023, the official X account of Nintendo Japan posted an announcement for the upcoming Legend of Zelda live action movie . Image from Nintendo The post links to an article on the Nintendo website, stating that the planning and development of the movie has started. The article states that the movie is a joint production of Nintendo and Arad Productions, represented by Shigeru Miyamoto and Avi Arad, respectively. Director Wes Ball (Maze Runner, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes) will helm the film. Nintendo will also finance 50% of the productions costs and share it with Sony Pictures Entertainment. The latter will also be handling the film's worldwide distribution. What are your thoughts? I'm fairly new to the Legend of Zelda world, but I do have high expectations. Personally, I'd prefer to have an animated film. If it were produced by Studio Ghibli, that would be amazing. Story-wise, I would love if it's a post TotK story, but I think in this case it...

Legend of Zelda - Breath of the Wild Progress: Defeating my first Guardian

Image
Originally posted this on Reddit, but I thought I'd put it here and expanded it. I mentioned here when and how I started playing Breath of the Wild , six years after its initial release. I also talked about how nervous I got when facing enemies or doing certain tasks (which is also something that happens in other games). I've mostly gone around the game trying to complete the map (done), getting Koroks (I got enough for all the inventory upgrades, so it's not my priority any more), and Shrines (I found 88 so far, but not all are finished because they're mostly medium and major Tests of Strength). I've also explored and farmed things (playing BotW as if it were Stardew Valley lol). My nervousness about facing enemies manifests physically. My hands shake, my heart beats faster, and sometimes I get cold sweats. This happens regardless of whether it's a Bokoblin or a Chuchu or the bigger ones like Hinox, Guardians, and Lynels. For most of them, I've learned how...

Game Life: What I've been playing

Image
I'm a little late to owning a Nintendo Switch. I wasn't really sure if I wanted to get one, and while I loved video games, I felt I wasn't ready to commit to playing regularly. The last gaming console I had was a 3DS, and there were still a few games there that I didn't finish. (Note: This post has affiliate links from PlayAsia) But in late 2021 I gave in and purchased a Switch, and it was even the Animal Crossing version . It was on sale, a rather big chunk off from its introductory price a year before. Even with the game it was cheaper. How I got it was a funny story. Not my actual unit, but it does look like this. It's so pretty. I was out of the city for a trip, and I was chatting with. my best friend about his recent purchase of a Switch (yes, we were both late into the game). We were talking about the pros and the cons, and the games we found interesting until I said, "Ok, I'm gonna get one." I was planning on waiting until I get back to the city...
